Emma-Lee and Kathleen

Kathleen is my free spirit, all faries, pixi dust, and tutus. She knows what she wants and will do what it takes to get it. She is happy to be 4, she can now behave (she says) because she is a big girl.
She has a new "school" she goes to every Thursday. We attend MOPS ( Mothers Of Pre schoolers) where she goes and has a worship and bible class for her and one for me!!She has of core wraped her teachers around her finger with her matter of fact way of speaking. I think it will help when she stars VPK next year.

Emma-Lee is my back up. She is the one getting on to Kathleen when I am not in the room. She thinks Ross is hers and she has already found a husband at the ripe old age of 5.
Being in Kindergarten has changed her a bit. She gives back more sass, But that can at least be dealt with. I hear every bad thing the other children do. She has had no problems yet, but no child is perfect, Not even mine!!

Children's minds ;)

This weekend we had places to go and it is my job to get all 3 kids, myself, and the diaper bag ready. My Husband only has to worry about himself. ( we all see where this is going) I was ready at 4:00pm and we didn't leave until 10min to 6:00pm. I was so frustrated with him that I was praying for patience and strength to get through this with out the normal bickering. Emma-Lee caught me and asked me what I was praying for. I told her Patience and strength, of coarse I didn't tell her why!! Kathleen upon hearing this decided she needed to pray. " Dear God can you give me a new pink tutu with gems on it Amen" I (trying hard not to laugh) told her she couldn't pray to God for a new tutu, that she could ask us for her birthday coming up for one. With that said I hear Emma-Lee behind me praying, " Dear God please give mommy patience to deal with Kathleen and tell her to stop asking you for a tutu Amen!"

A few weeks ago my mom called me to tell me my 2 year old nephew modified the lunch prayer I taught him. His new prayer
God our Moder, God our Moder
once again, once again
Thank you for our pudding, Thank you for our pudding
AWWWman! AWWWman
Enough Said!

Begining of school cold :(

Sorry I have been inactive. We have been all
sick. I love my Husband and children but they are the last people you want to see when your all sick !
Life is back on track now and Ross found his feet this weekend!!
He is always so happy when he learns something new. He barely slept yesterday because he was soo happy that he found a new portable toy! I miss the days when I was sooo easily amused. Heck I have 400 TV channels and can never find anything on?
I think any parent will agree, that watching your children sometimes can be more entertaining than TV. I have a few min. to myself so I am going to go clean the kitchen floor.
Love to all.

The first week!!!!!!

I am sorry for not updating sooner. It has been a crazy week running back and forth plus teaching and nursing. Whewwwww!! She loves Kindergaten!!! She has had happy faces all week and on Friday she got in the van and told on herself. She said a little boy in class made her spit on the slide. I asked if her teacher knew it happened and she said no. She knew that she didn't deserve the happy face for this small infraction, so the guilt on her face was enough for me to not take computer away from her. We are making her tell her teacher herself and letting the teacher deal with it as she sees fit.
Kathleen has missed Emma-Lee very much all week but has also seen the benifits of being the oldest in the house while she is gone. She has power and likes it!!!! When Emmie gets home they are like two little puppies.
Ross is taking life in strides. He pays close attention to all and everything. He has a zest about him. He is always happy and we want to keep it that way!!
Love to all

The worst day for any Mom!!

Today is the first day that being a mommy has been painful for me.
My Emma-Lee has started kindergarten today. I know it seems mellow dramatic to some of you but it was like giving away my heart. She was being so brave. Last night she asked if I thought the other kids would pick on her. We waked to her class today and got pics. with her teacher, then she had to sit up against the wall and wait for the rest of her class mates. When she sat down she was hiding her face from me. Then as I was walking away I looked over my shoulder to see the fear of the unknown on her face and I almost went back down that hall to bring her home.
It made me remember my first day away from my Mom. Mom thought it would be good to put me in preschool. I cried all day!!! She ended up working at the school just so I wouldn't cry all the time. I did get used to it after awhile.
Kathleen asked if Emmie changed while she was away so long. I told her she was our same old Emma-Lee. I know how she is feeling because I have been a wreck for 24 hours worrying if she would still be my well adjusted sweet innocent little girl. Come back soon for the update!!

Today is a day to reflect!!

Yesterday at around 5:30pm Our family changed forever.
My sister Keirsten had a car accident.
She was on Mayport Rd. in Jacksonville FL.
She was the only one involved. She hit a cement electrical poll head on. The poll ended up in the middle of the engine of their Chevy, Suburban. She was unconscious until her brother in law came on the scene and started calling her name. He saw the whole thing from his rear view mirror. The elec. poll was cracked and there were live wires all over the car. They were able to get her out once they Paramedics saw her wake up. They believe she had a seizure. We have no confirmation of that at this time. She has not a scratch on her and was released last night from the hospital. She will be seeing a Dr. to make sure she is all right. She is still in shock. Every hour we are finding out more of the details. Her brother in law was on the phone with David (her husband) when he came on to the scene. My strength goes out to David. To be on the phone trying to get to your spouse, but also hearing the little details first hand. Waiting for some one to confirm she woke up. I know he was in agony. I have been on auto pilot until I heard her voice today. She is still a little out of it.
I know this is not an uplifting thing to write about, but life doesn't always give you rainbows and butterflies. I know that God was with her yesterday and that she was lucky. But I can't shake the feeling that this is a sign to everyone who hears this story, that don't take life and love for granted. For every moment you get to share with loved ones is priceless.
Call all your family and Friends today and tell them to be safe and that you love them!!!
